The calendar basis shown here
This tool uses the Islamic civil tabular calendar: twelve alternating 30- and 29-day months, with a leap day added to the last month in eleven years of a 30-year cycle. The selected date and reverse converter use the same basis.
Local moon-sighting calendars can begin a month on a different civil date. The adjustment control shifts the displayed date by up to two days for comparison. It changes the calculated reading and exported month; it does not change the independently sourced observance records.
From Ramadan to Shawwal
Ramadan is the ninth month and Shawwal the tenth. Eid al-Fitr marks the start of Shawwal; Eid al-Adha falls in Dhu al-Hijjah. In the selected-day panel, expected observances carry their own date status and source. An expected entry becomes an announced date only when its applicable announcement is recorded.
Using the calendar
Choose a Modern Calendar / Gregorian month to see the Hijri day numbers through its changing month boundary. Select any day for the full date, or enter a Hijri year, month and day below the grid to convert back. The printed view keeps the calculation basis and any adjustment visible.
