Read the date in its context

The month grid uses Modern Calendar / Gregorian dates in India. Each listed occasion carries its own reference: a festival calendar, a government-office notification or a weekly bank rule. Select the layers that match your task, then open a day to read the applicable place and institution.

A festival and an office closure can appear on different dates. For example, the 2027 Delhi festival reference lists Holi on 22 March, while the central-government office order lists the closure on 23 March. The calendar retains both records with their labels.

The region filter selects regional records and keeps nationally relevant dates visible. An observance’s reference place remains displayed beside it. Selecting a state does not turn a Delhi almanac reference into a city-specific ritual calculation.

Major festivals are the default view. Turn on recurring dates for Ekadashi, Pradosh and other available Hindu observances, or choose a community to narrow the list. Expected moon-sighting dates are marked alongside the occasion and can be hidden with the expected-date control.

The selected-day panel also supplies a national Saka date. For a lunar calendar reading, use the Hindu calendar and its named regional convention. For closure planning, use the institution-labelled layers and the dedicated annual or bank tools.

Coverage and sources

Available reference years: 2026 and 2027. Every listed record links its reference in the day panel. Published coverage is a selected set of observances and institutional schedules; an empty result means no record matches the selected layers.
